1950-57  Ship Pictures

The following private collection is the property of Bob Settles, who served on four U.S. Navy Ships from 1951 through 1957.  Most pictures were taken on an Argus C-3 , developed into slides, then digitized to 450 or 1024 pixels on the long dimension as displayed in this collection.  An occasional junk or sampan is thrown in for contrast or color.  Many of the pictures are included within individual stories in the Seven Years a Sailor collection.  Copyright laws apply. Enjoy!

For brevity and clarity, the complete list of ships follows the pictures, insofar as they are known.   The pictures are shown in rough sequence as seen between June 1951 and June 1957.
